Daisy Lou Designs by Lyn Hurring make me feel very nostalgic. I meant to take a quick look at her artwork on facebook and read her blog to pick out my favourite pieces to highlight her talent. Here I am a few hours later feeling like I have stepped back in a time warp and revisited my childhood.

Lyn’s generous, loving nature shines through in her work and it is not hard for me to recognise two of her inspirations; the lovely Grace, one of my Dad’s favourite girls and handsome young Josh, her two children. I am no artist, however I judge work by colour, lines and how it makes me feel… Lyn’s work makes me feel young and carefree; now that’s worth paying for!

With a variety of styles using different mediums, Lyn’s work seems to reflect a simple life style that we all had as we grew up in idyllic settings in Otago, New Zealand. I had a sneak peak into her studio a couple of years ago and I can’t believe how much work this clever, busy working mum of two has managed to produce since then.

Lyn and her husband share a love of cycling which is reflected in her work. I love the fact that she represents rugby with boys and girls and I am so proud to be able to present some of her work to share with you all.
